   It is substantially lightweight as compared to the original Canon brand, which makes it highly suspect as a replacement battery. However, it fits perfectly in the battery compartment and battery tray of the battery grip for both Canon XSi and T1i models. I only use this battery as a backup and not necessarily as a replacement. This is a good purchase if you use the battery grip and do not want to spend additional money for the more expensive original. I went to Paris and Ireland and took over 1,000 shots in one city and did not need to recharge either battery (Battery indicator still read full). I am a novice photographer who mainly takes pictures of my children, landscapes, family occassions, and some portraits. This battery suits those purposes fine. If you are looking for substantial battery needs close to the factory battery, you may want to consider other choices. Pleased with this purchase.
